Applying for Membership
Thinking of joining St. Canice’s Kilkenny Credit Union?
Joining St. Canice’s Kilkenny Credit Union is easy. You are eligible to become a member if you live within or are employed in our Common Bond.
What is our Common Bond?
Our Common Bond is an area that consists of the parishes of Kilkenny city, Clara, Tullaroan, Kilmanagh, Danesfort and Freshford and the townslands of Stoneyford and Ballyfoyle. It is this factor that unites all members of St. Canice’s Kilkenny Credit Union. If you do not live or work in our Common Bond area, but are a family member of an existing St. Canice’s Kilkenny Credit Union account holder, then you may also be able to open an account. To find out more, please contact any member of staff at our information counter.
When opening a personal or joint account, whether you are a new or existing member, you will be asked to provide the following three pieces of documentation;
1. Personal Identification - e.g. current passport or driving licence
2. Proof of permanent address dated within 3 months (for those of you who do not live in the
common bond, we will also need proof of employment and employer location) and
3. PPS Number/Tax Identification Number
Club Accounts – Clubs require the identities of at least two elected officials. These officials must live or work within our common bond and provide all necessary documentation in accordance with the above guidelines.
For information on opening any of the above accounts, please contact the Information Desk in our High Street or MacDonagh Junction sub office. To open an account, it is necessary to call into either office with all of the required documentation.
